Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBA Laptop Power Management Driver for windows 7 8 8.1 10 This package provides the driver for the Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBA Power Management Driver in supported laptop models that are running a supported operating system.
Just bought a brand new Legion Y720-15IKB 80VR with Gforce GTX 1060 graphic card. The only thing I did before trying to update the graphic card driver was to update my Windows 10 Home to Creators Update (1703) and all the subsequent windows updates.
The Nvidia driver installed from the factory is 376.39, which is the Windows 10 update driver (closest Nvidia official driver is 376.33 dated Dec 14, 2016 - really old). This 376.39 is also the latest available on http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/no/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-y720-15ibk/80vr/downloads
This is a quite old driver, so of course I want to upgrade with the official Nvidia 382.05 driver, and downloaded it from Nvidia.
The installation went smoothly all the way. Didn't even need reboot. No errors, last page in installation wizard showed all sub elements installed successfully (driver, experience, vulcan etc)
However, the Geforce GTX 1060 did not work at all. Looking at Device Manager, there was a 'Yellow Exclamation Mark' on the Geforce GTX 1060 device. Clicking into it showed 'This device is not working properly' and there was 'incomplete installation' lines in the events tab. I rebooted, of course, and the same result. I could not even open the Nvidia control panel - it just told me no Nvidia card was found. I did a clean install of the driver, still same. I uninstalled the driver - even run nvidia driver cleaner from Guru3D. Then I tried the newest beta 382.19 - same result... I tried downgrading to the previous WHQL driver 381.89 - was not compatible with the Creators Update it told me. So I had to return to the 376.39 driver....
I also have a Thinkpad E-540 with Nvidia GT 740M with Windows 10 Creators update - i dont have any problems with any of these official drivers on that laptop.... My son's got a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 with Nvidia GTX 960 and I have never problems with Nvidia official drivers on his laptop...
Whats going on, Lenovo - is the GTX1060 in Y720 special in any way so the official driver will not work?!? Is it maybe a firmware thing? I have never seen anything like this before, and I'm quite experienced (my first OS was Windows 3.1...)
Please help me.
